Dr. Hani Nabeel Mufti

Dr. Hani Mufti is a congenital cardiac surgeon based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. After obtaining his medical degree from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, he perused further training in cardiac surgery at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada. As a future academic surgeon, he wanted to enrich his research training and enrolled in the Clinical Investigator program, an advanced research program supervised by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Realizing the potential in big data, advanced analytics and machine learning; he obtained a Masters of Health Informatics with a focus on machine learning applications in health. After finishing his surgical training, he obtained his Cardiac Surgery specialization and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. Afterwards, he attended the Royal Children Hospital of Melbourne, Australia to complete a Congenital Cardiac Surgery Fellowship. Dr. Mufti research interest is focused on big data analytics, applying machine learning on medical data, process optimization to improve patient’s outcomes and the utilization of health care resources. Outside of the medical reading, Dr. Mufti likes reading about mathematics, statistics, computer science and space. He enjoys learning new computer languages, traveling and diving.
